The University of Ilorin, UNILORIN is recruiting for the position of Bursar in the ongoing school recruitment. Applications are welcome from interested applicants as the position will be vacant from November 1st 2023.
The Council of the University of Ilorin hereby announces that the post of Bursar of the University will become vacant with effect from 1st November, 2023.
In accordance with the provisions of the Universities (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act No. 11 of 1993, as amended by Act No. 25 of 1996 and the Universities (Miscellaneous Provisions (Amendment) Act 2012, the Council has decided to begin the process of appointing a new Bursar.
Consequently, applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified applicants for the post.

The Position And Duties
The Bursar is the Chief Financial Officer of the University and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day general administrationand control of the financial affairs of the University. He/She should provide the University Management with appropriate advice and support for all of the institution’s financial transactions, including investments.
Qualifications
The applicant must possess a good honours degree from a recognised University in Accounting, Finance, Economics and/or related fields. In addition, he/she must be a member of at least one of the under-listed professional bodies:
i) Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), or England and Wales, or
Scotland, or Ireland;
ii) Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN);
iii) Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (ACCA);
iv) Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPA); and
v) Chartered Institute of Cost and Management Accountants (ICMA).
(b) The applicant should also be of good health, sound judgment, pleasant disposition, unassailable integrity and competent in the use of ICT;
(c) The applicant should have been at a level of Deputy Bursar in a University for a minimum of five (5) years; and
(d) the applicant must not be older than 60 years at the date
of appointment.
Tenure And Conditions of Service
The appointment is for a single term of five (5) years, while salary and other conditions of service shall be as approved for Bursars of Federal Universities by the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Governing Council of the University of Ilorin.
