The Management of the School of Basic and Remedial Studies, Umaru Musa
Yar’adua University, Katsina, earlier known as School of Pre-Degree and Remedial
Studies wishes to inform members of the General Public that the School has now
reviewed its programmes to include Sciences, Arts and Social Sciences as follows:
A. Remedial Studies:
i. Remedial Programme in Sciences, Arts and Social Sciences.
ii. IJMB Programme in Sciences, Arts and Social Sciences.
B. Basic Studies:
i. Diploma Programmes in Science Education with option in:
Biology, Chemistry, Physics & Geography
C. Advanced Diploma in Public Administration.
D. Part-Time Diploma Programmes in the following fields:
i. Mathematics Education
ii. Public Administration
iii. Local Government and Development Studies
iv. Accounting
v. Security Studies
vi. Arabic Studies
vii. French
viii. Industrial Chemistry
ix. Environmental Resource and Disaster Management; and
x. Remote Sensing
xi. Law with Specialization in:
Shari’a and Civil Law
Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)
E. Certificate Programmes in:
1. Language Proficiency in Arabic.
2. Language Proficiency in French.
3. Translation and Subtitling for English.
4. Forensic Science.
F. Professional Certificate in English (Intensive)
The School is therefore informing the general public that admission is on; and that
candidates who wish to apply for any of the programmes should visit the Umaru
Musa Yar’adua University’s website: www.umyu.edu.ng for admission
requirements and other details.
Candidates who wish to enroll in any of the programmes are required to pay the
sum of three thousand (N3,000.00) naira application fee through the University’s
website.
