Hauler Driver

Description:

The Hauler Driver is responsible for maneuvering the hauler in a safe manner while working in collaboration with the designated Foreman and ensuring that all road safety rules are followed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect truck before and after use daily and submit report on the condition of the truck to the Foreman or Supervisor.
  • Drives tractor-trailer combination while applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations to transport products for delivery.
  • Maneuver truck into loading and unloading position following signals from Foreman or Supervisor and check to ensure that the vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
  • Follow appropriate safety procedures for Transporting heavy equipment and wide loads.
  • Drives truck within the 30-ton capacity weight only (including Hauler, Trailer and Container).
  • Maintain radio or telephone contact with the Dispatch Department, Operations Manager or Supervisor.
  • Obtain delivery instruction from appropriate source (Dispatcher), verify same and routes. Plan and adjust routes based on changing conditions. 
  • Maintain log of working hours and vehicle service or repair status.
  • Report defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the truck and/or trailer.
  • Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or performing minor repairs.
  • Ensure that all the relevant documentations are updated for the truck and trailer as prescribed by the Laws of Guyana.
  • Check and assist the Lorry Assistant (Porter) in properly securing cargo with the necessary materials in order to safely transport cargo.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Ensure that Customer signatures are obtained, and the relevant documentation is completed.
  • For export purposes, ensure that visits are made to the weigh station before and after loading, for weight to be derived and documented according to VGM regulations.
  • Conduct all operations in a manner that promotes safety.
  • Comply with OSH and HSSE standards.
  • Performs any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • A sound Secondary Education. Must be able to read and write.
  • Certification in Heavy Duty Vehicle Operation
  • Proven work experience as a Truck Driver
  • Valid truck driving license
  • Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge and skills in operating Hauler and other heavy-duty vehicle
  • No recent driving violations
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations, such as, traffic and weather conditions.

Payroll Assistant

Payroll Assistant is responsible for the accurate processing and recording of payroll, along with providing timely and accurate financial information.  

Objectives:

  • Ensuring all employees are paid on time and accurately. 
  • Auditing the full start to end payroll cycle for all employees. 
  • Remaining compliant with all payroll processes as prescribed by local laws. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains payroll operation by collecting, entering and processing payments. 
  • Audit time sheet records for all employees. 
  • Coordinate with Payroll Supervisor for changes in employment or personnel information. 
  • Filing and securing payroll information including NIS & PAYE contributions. 
  • Resolves payroll discrepancies.

Security Coordinator

Objectives

  • Demonstrate organizational and management skills by creating schedules, and training new security officers on company procedures as required. 
  • Develop effective relationships with all security department personal through clear communication  
  • Oversees the daily workflow, schedules, and assignments of security staff including security guards and desk clerks. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate to management personnel regarding issues and or situations occurring within the facility, via both written and verbal communication methods. 
  • Provides and/or implements security and security protocols for all assigned facilities and information systems. 
  • Takes proactive steps to provide a safe and secure working environment to staff and visitors. 
  • Provides specialized security for and monitors access to limited and restricted access areas such as inventory areas, network equipment areas, and employee files and confidential records. 
  • Conducts regular walk-throughs and security inspections for assigned facilities. 
  • Where government projects are involved, serves as a liaison to government agencies concerning project security; assists with security clearance processing for employees working on government classified programs.

Requirements

  • Check material(s) quality (rebar, concrete, wire, etc.).

  • Checks the sampling operations (when required).
  • Monitor correct curing operations.

  • Check and manage documents certifying tests, controls and inspections carried out witnessing the tests, controls and inspections carried out.
