Covid 19 : DELSU Postpones 2nd Semester Resumption Date 2019/2020

On behalf of Senate of Delta State University, Abraka, (DELSU) I hereby postpone indefinitely the resumption of students for the second semester, 2019/2020 academic session.

All lectures are therefore suspended, and students are directed not to return for academic activities. They should remain in their homes. This measure is a necessary precaution to stem the rapid spread of Coronavirus pandemic. The general public is thus notified of this inevitable decision taken in the interest of public health. The University Administration will continue to monitor and evaluate events following this global disease outbreak, and future decisions on resumption shall be guided by health advisory.

Notice to staff and Visitors to the University

Meanwhile staff and visitors to the Delta state University, Abraka are advised to observe hygiene practices on frequent washing of hands and use of hand sanitizers. The University Health services have been empowered to provide hand sanitizers in the Faculties, Departments, Libraries and offices in the three campuses of the University for use by all staff (while on duty) and visitors to the University. Infrar-red thermometers have also been provided to randomly check the body temperature of Staff and visitors to the University. As much as possible, the University Community is encouraged to observe social distancing (staying about 2 meters apart), reduce physical contacts and overcrowding.
